Buffalo Bills fans got their first look at the new $2.1 billion Highmark Stadium during Saturday’s “Return of the Blue and Red” open practice — and some walked away with complaints about their sightlines.
Posts from multiple fans, including BuffaloWeather on X, showed seats blocked by staircases, safety railings, and glass panels in both the upper deck and lower-level sections. Journalist John Wawrow also circulated a photo of what he called a potential worst seat in the building, with a structural panel cutting off part of the end zone view.

Not every reaction was negative — some fans praised the new natural grass surface, tighter concourses, and reduced concession lines. But complaints about obstructed views, a steep upper-deck climb, and undersized video boards spread widely on social media following the practice.
The Bills have not issued a formal response to the sightline complaints. The team’s construction was backed in part by roughly $850 million in New York State and local public funding.
The stadium gets its first real test during a live NFL game when Buffalo hosts the Carolina Panthers in the preseason opener on Saturday, Aug. 15.
