Fact-Checking Policy
Effective Date: July 4, 2026
At ENFELL (enfell.com), our motto is “Speed backed by Certainty.” Operating a 24/7 NFL news platform with hourly content updates requires an unyielding dedication to factual accuracy. We understand that in the fast-paced world of professional football—where trade rumors, injury reports, and contract extensions break in seconds—our readers rely on us for verified truth, not speculation.
Founder Lee Walker and the entire ENFELL editorial staff are bound by this Fact-Checking Policy to ensure every piece of content meets the highest standards of integrity before it reaches our audience.
1. Verification of Sources
We do not publish stories based on single, unverified social media posts or unauthenticated hearsay. Our verification process follows strict guidelines:
-
Primary Sources: We prioritize direct information. This includes official NFL press releases, statements from individual franchises, verified quotes from press conferences, and official player/agent announcements.
-
Secondary Sourcing & Hyperlinking: When reporting on data, statistics, or external investigative journalism, we verify the source material and provide a direct hyperlink to the original data set or report.
-
The “Two-Source” Rule for Insider News: For breaking news, roster moves, or internal team updates that haven’t been officially announced, our journalists require validation from at least two independent, reliable insider sources before publishing.
2. Differentiating Fact from Speculation
In NFL journalism, rumors and analysis are highly sought after by fans. To prevent misleading our audience, we clearly distinguish between different types of content:
-
News Articles: Strictly objective reporting of events backed by absolute proof.
-
Rumors/Reports: Clearly labeled as “Rumors” or “Reports” in the headline and opening text, explicitly identifying that the event is developing or unconfirmed by the league/teams.
-
Opinion & Analysis: Clearly marked as commentary or expert analysis, indicating that the content reflects the writer’s professional evaluation rather than an official hard news update.
3. Rigorous Multi-Tier Editorial Review
Despite our rapid hourly publishing cycle, no article goes live on ENFELL without editorial oversight.
-
Writer Responsibility: Authors must double-check the spelling of player names, historical statistics, injury terminologies, and salary cap figures before submitting a draft.
-
Editor Verification: A designated editor independently reviews every piece of content. Editors verify the primary sources cited in the draft and ensure the headline perfectly matches the facts of the story—we strictly prohibit clickbait.
4. Correcting Information and Transparency
Factual accuracy doesn’t stop once an article is published. If new details emerge that change the context of a story, or if a human error slips through our defense, we take immediate action:
-
Immediate Updates: For fast-breaking stories, we continuously update the original piece with timestamps (e.g., Update: 2:15 PM EST) to show the evolution of the facts.
-
Explicit Corrections: If a material error is discovered, we correct it instantly and add a transparent “Correction Note” at the top or bottom of the post, explaining exactly what was changed and why.
5. Reader Accountability
We welcome our community to act as a partner in maintaining our standards. If you believe a statistic, quote, or news piece published on enfell.com is inaccurate, please contact our desk immediately at contact@enfell.com with the subject line “Fact Check Request.” We investigate all legitimate claims within 12 hours.
