Madden NFL 27 has opened its first early access door. As of Thursday, August 6, EA Sports MVP+ members can boot up the game a full week before its worldwide release, marking the start of a staggered rollout that runs through August 13.

MVP+ members got the first crack at the game on Thursday, August 6, at 2:00 PM ET, giving them seven full days of early access, according to MaddenTurf. EA Play members were also able to jump in at that same time, though their access is limited to a 10-hour trial rather than the full seven-day window.
There’s a catch for anyone hoping to join that group now: MVP+ enrollment closed on July 2, so the membership is no longer purchasable, per MaddenTurf. Fans who missed that window will need to wait for the next access tier.
That next tier arrives Monday, August 10, at 2:00 PM ET, when owners of the Deluxe Edition ($99.99) or MVP Bundle ($149.99) get three days of early access. The MVP Bundle also includes the Deluxe Edition of College Football 27, according to Forbes.
Everyone else — Standard Edition players on every platform — gets in on the worldwide launch date: Thursday, August 13, at 2:00 PM ET.

The headline addition this year is the Persona Engine in Franchise mode. EA is billing it as the biggest change the series has made to player behavior, building in 65 distinct personality types that shape how players negotiate contracts, request trades, and react to weekly team decisions, according to Forbes.
Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is this year’s cover athlete. The game launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC through the EA app, Steam, and the Epic Games Store, with a separate Arcade Edition also releasing August 6 on Apple Arcade.
The timing lines up neatly with the NFL calendar. The Hall of Fame Game kicks off preseason play this week, with the first full slate of preseason games following next week — putting Madden’s early access window right alongside the on-field return of football.
