The Los Angeles Rams are digging into their history books for two new looks in 2026. The team revealed a pair of alternate uniforms Thursday night that lean on two of the franchise’s defining eras: the 1951 NFL championship team and the “Fearsome Foursome” defensive line of the 1960s and early ’70s.
The reveal came at a season-ticket holder event next to SoFi Stadium, according to the Associated Press. One uniform is a gold jersey called “Classic Sol,” paired with white pants. The other, “Fearsome White,” is a white-and-blue set built around the team’s defensive identity from six decades ago.
What the Classic Sol Uniform Looks Like
The Classic Sol jersey uses period-accurate royal triple striping on the sleeves and a blocky number font meant to echo the team’s 1951 championship banner. The matching white pants carry a traditional blue-gold-blue triple stripe down each side. Los Angeles will pair the uniform with its standard blue-and-gold helmet, though the nose bumper graphic gets a simplified font pulled directly from that 1951 title banner.
This marks the Rams’ first gold jersey since their all-gold Color Rush alternate debuted in 2015. The specific gold design revealed Thursday, though, hasn’t actually been on the field since 1994, when the Rams wore it as part of the NFL’s 75th anniversary celebration.
Fearsome White Honors an Iconic Defensive Line
The second uniform pulls fans back to the days of Deacon Jones, Rosey Grier, Lamar Lundy and Merlin Olsen — the “Fearsome Foursome,” a defensive front that redefined how teams valued pass rushers. The all-white jersey-and-pants combination includes blue rams horns arching over both shoulders, TV numbers on the sleeves, blue block numbers outlined in black, and black player names on the back. A wide blue stripe flanked by a narrow black stripe runs down both sides of the pants.
The helmet swaps gold trim for white horns and a white facemask, and replaces the usual nose bumper logo with a new wordmark featuring a curved R styled like a ram’s horn. SportsLogos.net notes it isn’t a true throwback: the current horn logo remains painted on the helmet, and the numbers, shoulders and pants stripes carry a subtle rubberized texture matching the rest of the Rams’ current uniform sets.
It’s also the first time white has served as a primary color for the franchise since it returned to Los Angeles in 2016.
A Personal Moment for a Franchise Legend
Rosey Grier, one of the four Fearsome Foursome members honored by the new design, reflected on what it means to see the old colors back on the field. “To see the Los Angeles Rams uniforms that we wore 60 years ago on the playing field now, reminds me of the importance of being a team player,” Grier said in a statement released by the team. “We selflessly prioritized the team’s collective success over individual stats or personal glory.”
The Rams marked the reveal with photos of their current defensive front — Myles Garrett, Kobie Turner, Byron Young and Braden Fiske — standing in front of lockers assigned to Lundy, Grier, Olsen and Jones. Garrett, the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, joined the Rams this offseason as part of a defensive overhaul that also brought in cornerbacks Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson, according to Wolf Sports‘ 2026 season preview.
Rams chief marketing officer Kathryn Kai-Ling Frederick tied both designs back to the franchise’s identity. “These uniforms are a celebration and reminder of the moments and people that built the Rams into what and who we are today,” Frederick said in the team’s statement. “Every detail was intentionally designed to honor the grit and greatness of our history while delivering a modern look for today’s players and fans.”
When Fans Will See Them on the Field

Turf Show Times points out the Chiefs matchup carries some extra weight — Los Angeles wore an all-yellow uniform against Kansas City back in 2018, in a game still remembered as one of the wildest regular-season shootouts in recent NFL history. The Packers game will also be the first-ever Thanksgiving Eve game on the NFL schedule.
These alternates aren’t the only wardrobe change in Los Angeles this year. The Rams already updated their primary home and road uniforms this spring, dropping the gradient effect and the “bone” grey jersey that had drawn criticism since its 2020 introduction, according to SportsLogos.net. With the two new additions, the Rams now carry five uniform combinations into 2026: modern white, royal blue, midnight navy, Fearsome White and Classic Sol.
